The WiSH Education Foundation held its fourth annual Cocktails on the Roof event on Friday evening on top of the Westfield Valencia Town Center parking garage. The event space was transformed into a classic rooftop party, complete with trees, inventive lighting and dancing to the DJ. Making it extra special were the private and public lounges with comfortable, modern seating and the PinUps for Heroes volunteers who catered to the lounges.
“This year was our largest yet, with more booths than we’ve ever had before, offering a huge number of choices in food and drink. You really had to pace yourself,” said Amy Daniels, Executive Director of the WiSH Education Foundation. “In addition to many of your favorite local restaurants, we had several single spirit vendors, wineries and breweries who offered imaginative drinks to our guests. We also had a voting booth for best signature cocktail and this year the winner was first time participant Claim Jumper Restaurant with their Grilled Pineapple Margarita, which has now been added to their featured menu.”
The event lasted three hours and partygoers had to be led off the roof by the DJ, who ended the event with a full dance floor.
“There is nothing like this in our region, thanks to the creativity and assistance of Eve Bushman of Eve Bushman Consulting. Her vision comes to life with an amazing WiSH committee, incredible volunteers and of course our sponsors who come back every year to make this happen,” said Daniels.
This year’s participants included JFC Int’l, Nealie’s Skillet, Marston’s Restaurant, Honu Coffee, Mammoth Mountain Coffee, Willow Creek Distillery, Indian Affair, Wolf Creek Brewery, Wolf Creek Restaurant, Salt Creek Grille, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Pomp & Whimsy Gin Liqueur, Sweet Beams Ice Cream, Mule 2.0, Lazy Dog Restaurant, SCV Custom Crush Services (Pulchella Winery), Newhall Press Room, LA Scotch Club, Alchemy, Dulce Vida, Hyatt Regency Valencia, Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ, Sweet T’s Treats, Impex Beverages, The Local Pub, Smokehouse on Main, Claim Jumper, solita, Figenza Mediterranean Fig Vodka and the Joy Squad Photo Experience.
The event cannot be successful without our amazing sponsors including Westfield Valencia Town Center, The Magazine of Santa Clarita, Elite Magazine, Littler, California Credit Union, Oasis Associates, Brightview Tree Company, Andy Gump, Burrtec, 24/7 Events, SOS Entertainment, Peterson Printing, Jennifer Ramos Social Conduit, Eve Bushman Consulting, Image 2000, Craig and Lisa Eichman, Team House Real Estate and PinUps for Heroes.
The funds raised will go towards programs in STEAM with an emphasis on the arts. Money has already been set aside for program in music, graphic design and literacy. With requests from programs throughout the district, the money will be used to make a difference in the classroom, giving students the tools they need to succeed. State funding does not meet need; our young people are our greatest resource and providing them with a great education must be one of our most important goals.
WiSH raises funds through events like this, Wine on the Roof, AutoNation Vehicle Giveaway and more. Check out the website for updated event information.
