Special Olympics Santa Clarita, Tri-Valley and Hoops of Hope are back with the exciting Shoot-A-Thon on Saturday, April 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Gymnasium at the Santa Clarita Sports Complex, located at 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway. Community members and students are invited to join Special Olympics athletes and coaches to help make more than 10,000 baskets during this year’s event.
The concept is simple – shoot a free throw basket and raise money for two great organizations! Participants of all skill-levels are welcome to partake in the fun with a minimum fundraising goal of $20. During the event, in groups, participants will take turns shooting free-throws for one hour. Friends, families, clubs and groups are welcome to start a team and sign up to start fundraising. Individuals are also encouraged to sign up as well and will be assigned to a team upon arrival.
All proceeds will benefit Special Olympics Santa Clarita and Tri-Valley and Hoops of Hope. From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. there will also be a silent auction with a variety of great items available for bidding. A friendly competition between local high school basketball teams will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
