Jake Kuredjian

The Los Angeles Dodgers, who have the best record in baseball and recently completed the best 50-game stretch in Major League Baseball in more than a century, will take on the San Diego Padres and the Chicago White Sox during a five-game homestand starting tonight.

This homestand represents five of only eight games this month at Dodger Stadium, where the Dodgers have gone a Major League-best 47-13 (.783) this year.

The homestand will be highlighted by four-time All-Star Yu Darvish’s Dodger Stadium debut, expected to be on Wednesday, Aug. 16 against the White Sox.

Darvish, who was acquired from Texas in a four-player trade on July 31, will make his second start as a Dodger tonight after striking out 10 in 7.0 scoreless innings last Friday at New York.

The Dodgers will have a promotion each game of the homestand, with tonight’s Friday Night Fireworks presented by Denny’s, a Sandy Koufax Perfect Game coin giveaway presented by 76 on Saturday, a Kids Back-to-School Backpack giveaway presented by Hi-Chew on Sunday, a Gil Hodges bobblehead giveaway presented by San Manuel Casino on Tuesday, August 15 and Dodger Socks presented by New Balance on Wednesday, August 16.

In addition, the team will hold Kids Run the Bases presented by New Balance following Sunday’s game against the Padres.

The homestand also includes a packed special events calendar with Union Night (Friday, Aug. 11), Jewish Community Day (Sunday, Aug. 13) and Lakers Night (Wednesday, Aug. 16).

Each special event will include special pregame programming and has an exclusive giveaway item that’s available only with the purchase of the event ticket package at Dodgers.com/Events.
