The Castaic Union School District and Los Angeles International Academy are partnering to bring Chinese students to district classrooms from their sister schools in China this week and next.
Three elementary students from Hunan No. 1 Primary will be attending classes at Live Oak Elementary School and 10 Chinese students will be visiting Castaic Middle School.
The students will be in their classes Jan. 22-25 and will be visiting Castaic until Jan. 30. They will spend that time immersing themselves in English based education and American culture.
This is the third year of the partnership between Castaic Union and their sister schools. The Chinese and American students are looking forward to practicing their language skills.
Many students at Live Oak Elementary school take part in after-school Chinese enrichment classes and are anxious to help the exchange students in the classroom and on the playground.
Upon their arrival Tuesday morning, the students will meet at Live Oak with principal Stephanie Beach and Los Angeles International Academy principal Fen Ruan. They will then be escorted by the principals to meet their new classmates.
