Special guest 3-time gold medalist, 4-time Olympian, Misty May-Treanor is very excited about the innovative concept of Starting6 so much so that she will be making a surprise visit to sign autographs for the athletes one day during the July 16-19 camp.

Olympians and professional volleyball players are showing their support of this new indoor volleyball program in Santa Clarita. Lead trainers, Olympian and UCLA Hall of Famer Annett Davis and former Professional Volleyball AVP Player Jason Lee, are kicking off the program with an indoor volleyball camp.

The purpose of the camp is to help kids ages 8 & above, beginners and intermediate players during the half-day camp to learn the game and improve their skills. Athletes will be pleased to attend the camp which will be held in one of the only air-conditioned gyms in Santa Clarita Valley, at the Henry Mayo Fitness and Health Center.

Current camp dates are July 16-19, from 11:30 a.m – 2:00 p.m. and registration is currently open at www.Starting6.com.

Why S6? There are 6 people who are allowed to play on a volleyball court at one time. The main goal of Starting6 is to empower children and train them to become better athletes and citizens so that they can move up the ranks at their schools and eventually be a part of the starting 6 on their team. Starting6 aims to help spearhead the development of the next generation of volleyball players, to help grow the game.

Annett Davis has trained athletes that have made their junior high, high school, and club volleyball teams, and some who have even have earned college scholarships. “Our goal was to create a program for families who cannot afford the $4000 – $8000 price of a volleyball club, but who still want high-quality volleyball instruction for their kids. We are not a club, we are an exceptional alternative,” explained Davis.

When reached for comments, Annett Davis was quoted as saying, “Our goal is to empower children to become better athletes and citizens of the world and help them on their way to making the ‘Starting 6’ on their teams. Players will receive high-level instruction and guidance that will lead to individual growth, as well as a higher volleyball IQ. To us, character matters. Athletes will put in consistent work that leads to greater skills not only on but also off the court.”
