Skye Patrick

LA County Library Director Skye Patrick was recently elected to the Executive Board of the Urban Libraries Council (ULC), the premier membership association of North America’s leading public library systems.

“The ULC Executive Board provides thought leadership and guidance during a critical time for libraries and our democracy,” said ULC Board Chair Michael Sherrod. “Skye Patrick comes to the board as a proven public servant ready to lead. She brings new and positive energy to an already strong board.”

Patrick was appointed LA County Library Director on February 1, 2016. Before joining LA County Library, Patrick served as Broward County Library’s Director, helming its evolution into a 21st century library that anticipates the needs and wants of its customers and community, and serves as an active force for change.

Since joining LA County Library, Patrick has focused on removing barriers and increasing access to information and services for all Los Angeles residents, while simultaneously bringing one of the largest library systems in the United States into the digital age. Patrick’s appointment to the ULC board puts her at the forefront of industry innovations and best practices, which benefits LA County Library.
