Susan C. Dolbert, Ph.D., Chief Development Officer and President of Providence Foundations, Southern California, has been elected to chair the 2017 International Conference Committee of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy.
AHP is an international professional organization dedicated to developing the fundraisers who encourage charity for nonprofit hospitals and health care institutions. The association’s 5,000 members represent more than 2,200 health care organizations in North America and abroad, raising more than $10 billion each year for community health services.
The 2017 International Conference Committee is charged with identifying current issues, reviewing submitted papers and developing educational content for the 2017 AHP Annual International Conference in New Orleans.
Dolbert serves as the Chief Development Officer and President of Providence Foundations, Southern California, which fundraises for five regional medical centers and a hospice/palliative care service. Previously she was the inaugural Vice President for Development, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS), Rutgers University Foundation. In that role, she supervised fundraising efforts for 15 RBHS schools, centers and institutes. She also created a team of major and principal gift officers while initiating and building a patient and family donor base.
Prior to her position at Rutgers, Dolbert served for three years as Vice President for Development at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, where she managed a staff of 60+ professionals and oversaw all aspects of fundraising. She also served as Chief Development Officer for Mayo Clinic in Arizona and Executive Director and President, Alumni Association, as well as the Director of Undergraduate Admissions, for Arizona State University.
