College of the Canyons’ music department, the COC Studio Jazz Ensemble and Lab Bands are planning to present the annual Holiday Jazz Band Concert.

The annual Holiday Jazz Band Concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, on the main stage of the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center (PAC) at College of the Canyons.

Providing a fun and festive beginning to the holiday season, the bands will perform holiday favorites including “O Holy Night,” “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” “Silver Bells,” “Feliz Navidad” and many more.

The ensemble will perform under the direction of COC music director K.C. Manji.

Special guest vocalist Katherine Lench-Meyering will lend her vocal stylings to the performance, along with an original holiday song she helped compose.

Also performing with the band will be accompanist Jeff Takiguchi and Mike Saul along with assistant Rob Rudolph.

“I think our performance helps get folks in the proper mood to celebrate the approaching holidays,” Manji said. “They always seems to leave the PAC humming their favorite tunes of the evening.”

Manji added that audiences are encouraged to sing along with the bands as they perform.

General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for COC students and senior citizens.
