Denise Redmond, executive director of Carousel Ranch announced that she will step down from the position as of Jan. 1, 2023. Though not retiring, Redmond will continue her work with the Ranch, with a focus on fundraising, grants, donor relations and program development. Redmond is one of the founders of Carousel Ranch, which she and Becky Graham, program director began in 1997.
Taylor Adachi, current associate executive director will step into the position, providing a seamless transition which has been in the works for the past three years. She will become executive director as she begins her 10th year with the organization.
“It has been my honor to serve in this role for nearly 26 years and today, I couldn’t be happier to see Taylor lead us into the next chapter,” Redmond said. “The role that I will continue to play is truly a combination of my strengths and the things that bring me joy. I look forward to contributing to the success of Carousel Ranch in this way for many years to come.”
Long time board member, mentor and supporter Wayne Crawford said Redmond’s years of hard work within the nonprofit was vital in expanding Carousel Ranch.
“Denise’s tireless efforts and exceptional organizational skills have helped grow the strongest and best run nonprofit in the Santa Clarita Valley from its infancy,” Crawford said. “As co-founder of Carousel Ranch, she’s been instrumental in expanding what was once a one-horse backyard equine therapy program into a successful nonprofit that now serves over 100 students weekly. Her leadership skills are unmatched – and like a true innovator, she has ensured the continued development of the Ranch by identifying and nurturing exceptional talent who will see that future generations also benefit from all this beloved organization has to offer.”
Carousel Ranch is fortunate to have Taylor Adachi stepping into the position of executive director ensuring continuity and stability for the Ranch’s future.
“I am proud and honored to be part of the Carousel Ranch team,” Adachi said. “When I started with Carousel Ranch as a volunteer and intern, I never imagined I would be stepping into the Executive Director role ten years later. I appreciate the board and staff’s confidence in me to lead this beloved organization. I’m so grateful to Denise for her guidance throughout the years. I look forward to continuing to build on this incredible legacy which has already contributed so much to our community.”
