The Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center will host a free workshop for senior women, “Purpose and Productivity as a Senior Woman,” at the center on Thursday, January 25 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The workshop is part of the Senior Center’s “Empowering Senior Women” workshop series that provides leading-edge tools for health and happiness.
The “Purpose & Productivity” workshop offers guidance, resources, and strategies for senior women who would like to join the workforce, including part-time. Participants will also learn about volunteer opportunities to fulfill community needs and find your sense of purpose.
Presenters include Seema Shaw, executive director of HandsOn Santa Clarita, which connects local non-profit organizations with volunteers; Joel Morgan, regional director of Workforce & Career Development at America’s Job Center of California; Kevin MacDonald, executive director of the SCV Senior Center, who has developed and implemented a successful employment program and career development center; and Robin Clough, volunteer coordinator at the SCV Senior Center, who coordinates 250 volunteers monthly, many of whom are senior women.
The SCV Senior Center Empowering Women Workshop Series is made possible by a community grant provided by Zonta Club of Santa Clarita.
To register, call Robin Clough at 661-259-9444 or email rclough@scv-seniorcenter.org.
