The University of Antelope Valley Pioneers defeated the Fighting Falcons of California Miramar University, 94-59, on Thursday, in intercollegiate men’s basketball exhibition action inside the Pioneer Event Center in Lancaster.
Senior guard Hayden Hall (Portland, OR) led all scorers in the contest with 21 points and also added six rebounds, junior guard Brandon Wade (Los Angeles, CA) added 14 points, three assists, one rebound and one steal, and senior guard Miles Nolen-Webb (San Diego, CA) scored 10 points and finished with a game-high seven assists.
Junior forward Jacob Mast (Portland, OR) and senior guard CJ Bussey (Seattle, WA) each dropped nine points, and senior forward Christian Drayton (Lufkin, TX) contributed eight points and a game-high eight boards.
UAV hit 37-of-69 field goals (.536), 11-of-28 three-pointers (.393), 9-of-17 free throws (.529), and outrebounded the Falcons, 42-36. UAV committed 17 turnovers and stole the ball 10 times. CMU made 20-of-61 shots (.328), 7-of-16 three-pointers (.438) and 12-of-21 free throws (.545) and committed 23 turnovers and stole the ball from UAV nine times.
