This is a time of year infused with the spirit of giving, but the Boys & Girls Club gives young people the opportunity to build a “Great Future” everyday with programs and activities that encourage academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles.
With financial support from the community, the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley is a positive place for more than 400 children and teens each day.
The Club’s Newhall and Sierra Vista locations offer a variety of youth development programs that include: Education & Career Development; Character & Leadership Development; The Arts; Sports, Fitness, & Recreation; and Health & Life Skills.
After school is the peak time for juvenile crime, which is why the Club is open Monday through Friday until 7 p.m. every week when schools are in session. The Club’s programs aim at keeping kids active, engaged, and away from the dangers of the street.
Currently 40% of members are teenagers, showing that the Club is reaching local youth at a critical age when they need a safe space the most.
During summer, fall, winter, and spring breaks the Clubhouses are open at 7am, so parents and guardians can provide for their family while knowing their children and teens are in a safe and supportive environment under the supervision of caring adult staff and volunteers.
“Great Futures Tours” give the opportuntiy to see the impact the Boys & Girls Club is having in Santa Clarita firsthand. Contact the Club today to join a tour and feel free to bring friends and family.
