Old Town Newhall is the place to be on Thursday nights from March through October, when Main Street is transformed into a true arts and entertainment venue with Thursdays @Newhall.
We are continuing our most popular Thursday night events and offering some new and fun happenings in the coming year to bring all kinds of free entertainment to enjoy in Old Town Newhall. No need to travel “over the hill” to experience a great night life.
On the first Thursday evening of the month between March and October, enjoy ArtSlam – an open-air gallery combining local artists into a one night pop up gallery experience, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. We’ve combined this with JAM Sessions (presented in partnership with the Ford Theatre Foundation), which is an interactive series inviting residents of all skill levels to release their inner artist through salsa, tango, drumming, square dance and much more.
Entertainment planned for JAM Sessions in 2015 includes: Bollywood Dance on March 5; Square Dance on April 2; Japanese Folk Dance on May 7; African Dance and Drums on June 4; Drum Circle on July 2; Swing Dance on Aug. 6; Salsa Dance on Sept. 3 and Tango Dance on Oct. 1.
On the second Thursday evening of the month, a new event called “Revved Up” brings together automotive enthusiasts and their classics including hot rods, exotic cars and motorcycles along Main Street. The themes for 2015 include: Classic VW’s on March 12; Trucks and Off-roading vehicles on April 9; Traditional Rods and Customs on May 14; Custom and Classic Motorcycles on June 11; Imports on July 9; Antiques on Aug. 13; Low Riders on Sept. 10 and Oddball Cars on Oct. 8.
And on the third Thursday evening of the month is the wildly-popular Senses, a themed block party featuring popular performers, gourmet food trucks, and a variety of activities in a fun and festive adult setting. This year’s themes include: Luck o’ the Irish on March 19; Country Throwdown on April 6; Masquerade on May 21; Let it Ride on June 18; Christmas in July on the 16th; Woodstock on Aug. 20; Hot Havana Nights on Sept. 17 and Sports of all Sorts on Oct. 15.
