College of the Canyons sophomores Calvin Estrada and Jacob Lopez continue to garner postseason honors for their respective performances at the plate and on the mound, with the duo both picking up All-State and All-Region honors and Lopez being named an All-American.
Lopez has been named to the 2018 American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings Pacific Association Division All-American Second Team; the ABCA/PAD Southern California All-Region First Team; and the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association Southern California All-State Team.
The All-American, All-Region and All-State team honors come on the heels of Lopez having already been named the Western State Conference East Division Pitcher of the Year.
Lopez finished the 2018 season with a 9-2 record and state-leading 128 punch-outs after logging double-digit strikeout totals in six of his 14 starts. His 1.62 ERA across 88 and 2/3 innings of work also ranked fourth in California.
The Saugus High School graduate, who also earned All-WSC First-Team honors as a freshman, will transfer to Texas Tech University in the fall.
Estrada has been named to both the ABCA/PAD Southern California All-Region Second Team and the CCCBCA Southern California All-State Team.
He was also named the 2018 WSC East Division Player of the Year.
Estrada finished the regular season with a blistering .458 batting average to lead the state, and clubbed 13 home runs, with 43 RBIs, 47 runs and 11 stolen bases. He slugged .901 along the way and reached base at a mark of .547 to lead COC in every category.
The former Crespi High School standout will head to Long Beach State University in the fall.
