The recently remodeled Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Gift Shop held a grand reopening ceremony on the evening of May 7.

The shop has brought in new and exciting merchandise in an effort to expand its customer base.

“I’m so excited to share our remodeled gift shop with our community,” said Kathy Gilbert, gift shop coordinator. “Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital has the most amazing volunteers, and with their help we redesigned and upgraded our gift shop. All the proceeds from our gift shop go back to the hospital so it’s very exciting to see how our ‘new’ gift shop is helping our community by helping the hospital. We would love for our community to embrace and use our gift shop as a destination shopping experience.”

A ceremonial ribbon was cut by Henry Mayo volunteer Geri Jacobs who was instrumental in starting the gift shop in the early days of the hospital. She was joined by Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Foundation President Marlee Lauffer, Foundation Board Chair, Sue Nevius and Kathy Gilbert, Gift Shop Coordinator.

Mocktails and appetizers were served as attendees examined the new offerings in the gift shop. The offerings include beautiful clothing, jewelry, handbags, cookbooks, specialty foods, skin care products, and a selection of greeting cards and flowers.

The gift shop’s operating hours are 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The shop is located at the main entrance of the hospital at 23845 McBean Pkwy., Valencia 91355.

About Henry Mayo
Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital is a 238-bed not-for-profit acute care hospital serving the Santa Clarita Valley since 1975. Henry Mayo is an Advanced Primary Stroke Center and a STEMI Receiving Center. The hospital features state-of-the-art inpatient facilities, a neonatal intensive care unit, catheterization lab, infusion center, breast center and an outpatient surgery center. Additional services include cardiovascular, trauma, emergency, intensive care, neonatal intensive care, maternity, surgery, nursing, wound care, spine and joint, behavioral health, and acute rehab, as well as cancer, imaging, lab, digestive, respiratory services and physical and occupational therapies. Currently under construction is a new patient tower that will provide up to 142 additional patient beds. It’s scheduled to be open for public use in 2019.
