The Santa Clarita Valley chapter of Junior Chamber International, aka “The Jaycees,” has launched a three-month drive to help nonprofit SCV homeless services provider Bridge to Home.
The drive was launched following discussions with Bridge to Home about how best young professionals can help the shelter.
Each month the Jaycees will work with Bridge To Home on what their latest needs are.
For February, Bridge to Home is asking for donations of bottled water, cereal, Granola bars, instant oatmeal, sugar, powdered coffee creamer, ground coffee, as well as cups, plates, bowls, utensils, paper towels and napkins.
Bridge to Home also relies on generous donations of gift cards and is asking for Target and Walmart gift cards in particular to help cover expenses.
The Jaycees will also be planning to host dinner for up to 75 homeless people in March and are asking for food donations.
Donation sites secured to date include SCVTV, The Magazine of Santa Clarita, Henry Rodriguez at State Farm Insurance, Chrissy Gonzales at Farmers Insurance, Tribute Lounge Hairdressers, Gymnastic Unlimited, DWilfri Dance Studio, SCV Book Exchange and the Henry Mayo Health and Fitness Center.

“We’ve been helping Bridge to Home at Christmas Time for our Santa’s Helpers Project and we’re delighted to be able to expand our support and assistance to such a worthwhile organization,” said Taylor Kellstrom, JCI’s 2019 president. “This project is a great opportunity for young professionals to come together and help out. We welcome your involvement.”
