A new non-profit, called Arts for Santa Clarita, has been formed by local arts leaders in an effort to unite our arts community and provide stronger support for the arts in Santa Clarita.
Arts for Santa Clarita’s mission is to enrich the Santa Clarita community through the development and facilitation of arts programing, facilities, education, support, and advocacy. Its first priority is to support the creation of a local Arts and Cultural Center.
Arts for Santa Clarita is kicking off its community engagement by hosting a logo creation contest. It is seeking an original logo that is identifiable to the Santa Clarita Valley and has an artistic spin. One that is relatively simple in design, to aid in reproduction. A logo that embodies visual, performing and cultural arts in all mediums, in and around the Santa Clarita Valley.
All entries are due by Monday, Mar. 19 and may be submitted in JPEG or PDF format to: artsforsantaclarita@gmail.com.
Entrants must live or work in the Santa Clarita Valley. A $300 stipend will be awarded to the winning artist, if a logo is chosen. When submitting a logo, please include your full name, phone number, mailing address and email address. An artist’s statement may be submitted, but is not required.
The winning logo will be announced on Saturday, Apr. 21, at the Santa Clarita Arts Run in Heritage Park. This will be the first event hosted by Arts for Santa Clarita and its expected attendance is 300500 people.
