The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Inaugural Trail Ride will be honoring Sergeant Steve Owen, who was killed in the line of duty in early October 2016. The ride is scheduled to be held Saturday, April 29 in Castaic.
The Ride is benefiting the Sheriff’s Youth Foundation, which is dedicated to providing Los Angeles County youth with safe facilities, planned programs and the vital tools they need to thrive and succeed in life.
Attendees will get the chance to ride with Los Angeles County’s Sheriff Jim McDonnell in the picturesque foothills of Castaic.
Tickets prices begin at $30 and are broken down as follows: two $30 per person options, with one including the BBQ lunch and auction only and the other including the pancake breakfast and Trail Ride, as well as access to the Auction. A $50 ticket gets one person access to the Pancake Breakfast, Trail Ride, BBQ lunch, and Auction. Horse rental is not included in the purchase price.
Horse rentals must be made prior to April 29 and attendees can make horse rental reservations by calling Circle K Outfitters at (661) 857-1114 or emailing Dario Perez at perezdar@yahoo.com.
Riders will go through a combination of rolling hills, single file, and minimal steep and sloping hills. The ride is about three and a half hours with three rest stops.
Non-riders are also welcome to attend. Riders under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
